On June 21st, Joseph Onek, Senior Policy Analyst for the Open Society Institute and the Open Society Policy Center, testified at the invitation of the House of Representatives Homeland Security Committee's Subcommittee on Intelligence, Information Sharing, and Terrorism Risk Assessment. This hearing addressed the use of open-source information by the U.S. government. Onek comments focused on how the government's authority to collect and share information on Americans creates potential for unfair discrimination against particular minorities.
